This book is a detailed look at the programmes which resulted from the clandestinedecision in the US to build highly secret spy satellites in parallel with the civilian spaceplans formalised by the Eisenhower administration. Developed and flown at first by theCIA and the US Air Force from 1959 in 1960 President Eisenhower established a highlyclassified organisation the National Reconnaissance Office to take charge of all spysatellite development for these and other government agencies
